HOW IT WORKS

TugLink is a job referral network, not yet another job board. Traditional online job boards and newspaper classifieds basically inform job-seekers about existing vacancies. But what do you do with this information even if you find a job you like and want to be hired for? Millions of people have access to the same job postings and sometimes hundreds apply for the same position. Employers are literally flooded with resumes and have a hard time trying to identify best candidates in a sea of applicants. Anyone who has ever searched for a job would know how challenging it might be even for a candidate with the right credentials to be noticed and get invited for an interview.

 

TugLink is not trying to replace job boards. Instead, we help people with the next step in the job search process - getting invited to a job interview. After creating a member profile complete with uploaded resume, photo and video, Candidates can find an interesting career opportunity on one of job boards or corporate web sites, post the job description on TugLink, get contacted by one of the company insiders registered on our site, be referred by Insider to the company, interview for the job, and, if qualified, get hired for it.

TugLink offers two types of membership:


BASIC service (see Scenario 1 in the Tutorials for Candidates) is free of charge and allows Candidates to set up a detailed profile, create Job Wish List with general description of your dream job, and post an unlimited number of specific jobs for which you would like to get referrals from Insiders.

 

PREMIUM service (when it becomes available later in 2008) will let Candidates search hot job leads posted on TugLink by Insiders and Employers. It will also allow Candidates to contact Insiders directly with referral requests for vacancies at their company.

Effective Job Application Process – instead of blasting job applications left and right the old way, post career opportunities for which you would like to be recruited here on TugLink, connect with Insiders, and have your resume (CV) delivered directly to people in charge of the recruitment process.

 

Efficient And Enjoyable Networking – forget about those unrewarding job search "fishing expeditions" at birthday and wedding parties or on regular social networking sites, enjoy the comfort of our friendly community where contact between Candidates and Insiders is expected and welcome.

 

Direct Employers Only – TugLink does not allow anybody except direct employers and their employees to register as Insiders and Employers. You can relax and enjoy the safety and clarity of our community where you always know which company representative you are dealing with. No headhunters, no resume harvesters, no MLM or other shady operators that crowd all job boards.


Convenient Job Search Process Tracking – have all your job search activities automatically recorded and saved in the TugLinking History section of your TugLink account.

 

Get Ahead Of The Competition – get on a fast track to your next job by establishing direct contacts with Insiders many of whom are actually Human Resources personnel or even hiring managers.

 

Pay For Results – stop spending money on "pre-selected" job leads and other upfront recruitment fees; if you decide to announce a referral bonus (which is not required) in your job post, pay it only once and only when you get hired.

  

Job-seekers often hear "networking is the most effective job search method" or "employee referrals can significantly increase your chances of getting an interview and, ultimately, landing a job". However, most people have very limited networking options. The average person's personal network includes only a few dozen contacts.
